Community living is one of the most important aspects of the program. By going through this experience with peers who share their dedication to community service, fellows develop key personal and professional connections and build a strong support network for one another.
As one fellow put it, “It is wonderful to live with people my age who are as excited to explore this city as I am and who are dedicated to working for positive social change. We all made the choice to work in the nonprofit sector because we are passionate about this city and making a difference here. Being surrounded by the other Philly Fellows reminds me why I made this choice.”
Fellows live in the houses rent-free. They are responsible for utilities.
Each fellow receives their own private bedroom. All houses have shared kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas.
Each bedroom comes furnished with a full or queen sized bed, nightstand, and chest of drawers. The common space includes couches, chairs, a dining room table, and a fully equipped kitchen.
Houses are co-ed.
The current fellowship houses are located in (left to right) West Philadelphia (six residents), Northern Liberties (four residents) and South Philadelphia (six residents).
